La Paz is located in the state of Baja California Mexico and is surrounded by The Gulf of California also known as the Sea of Cortez.

The narrow sea is home to a unique underwater marine life that includes many big fish such as the humpback whales, killer whales, manta rays, Humboldt Squids, sea turtles, and the world's largest animal, the blue whales.
